บริษัท ซิกน่า ประกันภัย ได้เปิดตัว ‘เครื่องวัดความเครียด’ เพื่อเป็นการสร้างความตระหนักรู้เรื่องความเครียด ผ่านเครื่องวัดระดับความเครียดเครื่องแรกของโลก และยังเป็นครั้งแรกในประเทศไทย ด้วยการทำงานของเทคโนโลยีที่ถูกออกแบบมาให้สามารถมองเห็น ‘หน้าตาของความเครียด’ ที่หลบซ่อนอยู่ภายใน
ทีมแพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ และผู้ชำนาญการด้านเทคโนโลยีของซิกน่า รวมถึง ‘ฌอน ซัลลิแวน’ ศิลปินนักออกแบบศิลปะเชิงดิจิทัลชื่อดัง ได้ร่วมกันออกแบบโปรแกรมประมวลผลความเครียดขึ้นมา โดยนำเอาข้อมูล 3 ส่วนมาประมวลผล ซึ่งได้จากเครื่องวัดคลื่นไฟฟ้าสมองแบบสวมศีรษะ และเซ็นเซอร์วัดการตอบสนองของผิวหนัง ได้แก่ ข้อมูลจากการตรวจวัดคลื่นสมอง ข้อมูลจากการตรวจวัดคลื่นหัวใจ และปฏิกิริยาการตอบสนองต่อกระแสไฟฟ้าทางผิวหนัง มาประมวลผล และนำไปสู่ขั้นตอนการนำเสนอข้อมูลผ่านผลงานศิลปะภาพบุคคล ที่จะมีความเปลี่ยนแปลงไปตามรูปทรงและสีสันที่ขึ้นอยู่กับสภาวะความเครียดของแต่ละบุคคลในช่วงเวลานั้นๆ โดย สีฟ้าสีเขียว หมายถึง มีความเครียดระดับต่ำ สีม่วง หมายถึง มีความเครียดระดับปานกลาง และ สีส้มสีแดง หมายถึงมีความเครียดระดับสูง
เทคโนโลยีนี้ถูกประกอบขึ้นมา เพื่อแสดงให้เห็นถึงความเครียดในร่างกาย โดยจะใช้เครื่องอ่านคลื่นสมองในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ตรวจจับคลื่นอัลฟา และคลื่นเบต้าในสมอง ซึ่งบ่งบอกความสัมพันธ์กับความเครียดในเวลานั้นๆ และใช้เซ็นเซอร์ตรวจจับคลื่นหัวใจ เพราะความเครียดจะส่งผลต่อการเต้นของหัวใจที่สูงขึ้น รวมไปถึงมีการใช้เครื่องที่วัดคลื่นใต้ผิวหนัง เพื่อวัดค่าเหงื่อ ที่สามารถบ่งบอกความเครียดของผู้รับการตรวจวัดได้ โดยการวัดค่าทั้ง 3 อย่างนี้ สามารถตรวจจับความเครียดของผู้ที่สวมอุปกรณ์ได้
‘ฌอน’ เผยว่า ความท้าทายที่ใหญ่ที่สุดของโปรเจกต์นี้ก็คือ การที่จะดีไซน์ความเครียดออกมามีหน้าตาอย่างไร ซึ่งต้องทำให้ภาพดูโดดเด่น ทำให้คนเกิดแรงบันดาลใจที่อยากจะควบคุมมันให้ได้ เพื่อกระตุ้นให้พวกเขาอยากจัดการกับความเครียด จึงได้ใช้ข้อมูลทางการแพทย์ กราฟ และฮีทแมพ ในการอธิบายภาพความเครียด แล้วจึงได้ภาพที่แสดงถึงความเครียดในขณะนั้น ผ่านทาง สี, รูปแบบ และการเคลื่อนไหว โดยพื้นผิวในภาพจะขยายขึ้นและลงตามค่าอัลฟ่าและเบต้าในคลื่นสมองของเรา ยิ่งอัลฟ่ามาก ความเครียดก็ยิ่งน้อย ถ้าเบต้าสูง แปลว่าความเครียดมาก ส่วนเรื่องของอัตราการเต้นของหัวใจและสีที่เรืองแสง แสดงถึงความเครียดในชั้นผิวหนัง
