  1. Joaquim Bayma says:

Corruption in the oil sector doesn't happen just in African countries. There was a recent example in Brazil where The Worker's Party has stolen billion dollar while Lula da Silva was President. So far, the guilty politicians are free and laughing from the laws.

  2. Alex Phoenix says:

Meaningful, systemic, change is not in our political or public will. The way things are going, it's going to require another French style revolution to bring change. And that wont be good. Our species still hasn't learned to share the world, and we likely never will. We are a petty and small species that, can't seem to get past greed. This vid is dated 2013, and things have only gotten worse. We're losing the battle with corruption and elitism. Maybe we're better off going the way of the dinos.

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable." ~ JFK

  3. L. James Barlow says:

7 years later and things are 70x's worse. We are merely nuisance chattel to the "Elite". Tolerated with contempt and culled at a whim if they feel your contribution to their already vulgar fortunes is not suffice! Humankind's ability to blossom has been usurped by these global Robber Baron's.
A dystopian future for Humankind is on the horizon. Soon the Oligarchs, Financial Fascists & Technocrats that she mentions will feed our remaining freedoms into a Fargo-esque wood-chipper. Then for their own perverse pleasure, they will slowly & gleefully squeeze the life out of all but a few useful idiots. The memory of this world will be thrown on the bonfire of history and forgotten like the countless civilizations that preceded ours.
    dat da tuth!

  4. Rik says:

Chair of what? What have you investigated if not the Clintons, Bilderberg, gates, Schiff, or the Fed, then there's Merck, Bayer, Dow corps etc, etc transparency laws don't bother em. ONLY 2 choices in this world light or darkness

  5. D. Beste says:

TED used to have smart TED talks instead of a rich woman crying over her failed IVF which costed hundred thousands and finally getting one saying it js the only amazing thibg can happen to a person especially to women etc lol

  6. aftonline says:

This video would be pulled from YouTube in no time if she criticized the corruption of big tech and the people behind them. Just ask Brian Rose of London Real. His Ted X Talk got yanked not long ago when he started hosting certain people on his show who were speaking out about certain things. The content of the Ted talk had been on YT for years and hadn't changed, but when you get on the wrong side of corruption you pay the price. Criticizing the bit players in third world countries is what used to be referred to as a "limited hangout". Yes there is corruption, but it's not endemic, and definitely doesn't affect you in Western countries. That's the message, and it is so not true.

  7. Manay Shah says:

SAME IS TRUE FOR WESTERN WORLD. THE DIFFERENCE IS THE APPROACH. FOR LAST FIVE HUNDRED YEARS WESTERN CIVILIZATION HAS THE MOST CORRUPT PRACTICES SUCH AS WAR, RESOURCE HOARDING, SLAVERY, SCIENTIFIC EMBLAZONMENT, and MONEY HEAVENS.

  8. Jason Mullinder says:

all the conspiracy theorists complaining about what she's not saying, this is someone actually working to do something about it, selling books and running blogs etc is just lining pockets while nothing gets done about anything

  9. Terry Smith says:

The bank announced a policy review is one of the things that needs to change because history shows policing ones self is not policing it's finding the right scapegoat to appease the public

  10. brian odonnell says:

Cant bare her shallow attack of the "bottom feeders" Rather than the real Big Boys.
Exposing the bottom well and good, But where is the courage to Hit at our Whole Western System rotten to the core.

  11. John Gardner says:

Who assassinated JFK, blew his head off in broad daylight in front of the world while his wife sat beside him an why FFS can't THEY just tell you the truth about it

  12. DoctorShrink says:

Corruption is endemic to the human condition. Regardless of political systems and laws it will always emerge. The scale is the only variable. To be honest I have never understood why so many people waste their lives acquiring wealth beyond their needs when most find that they are still unhappy or worse, that it creates even more problem- kidnappings, drug and alcohol abuse, crazy indulged children and grand children, begging relatives and the reality that you never know if people ever rally care for you or just your money. In the end we are all dead and there are so many wonderful things to do and experience in life beyond endless acquisition of wealth. And most of those don't even need much money.

  13. a campbell says:

Man steals money. Puts it in a bank. She says the bank is guilty.
Also, it seems that there is a larger lack of proper/strong court systems in those 3rd world examples.

  14. Thomas Meadors says:

What she failed to mention because she said she had to be careful is the rich elites that control these banks like the Rothchilds and George Soros and Warren Buffett. You also have Bill and Melinda Gates in Africa supposedly helping these ppl to better themselves. They are just waiting to swoop in and take their resources cheap and enrich the crooked leadership they keep in place to help them do this. Yes everyone makes bank but more so the already ultra rich elites and the leaders get their playthings until they get carried away and do bad things to their ppl that they finally get removed or better yet put in prison or killed. So she was nice by not mentioning names other than companies but she left out a lot of the companies that should have been named.
